Background: A novel cream formulation, containing a fixed-dose combination of calcipotriol/betamethasone dipropionate (CAL/BDP) and based on the polyaphron dispersion (PAD) technology, was developed for a patient-friendly psoriasis management. Objective: To assess the use, perception, satisfaction and adherence to the CAL/BDP PAD-cream in a real-world setting among patients with plaque psoriasis in Spain. Method: Online survey conducted originally in Germany and Spain through the company Wefight, between September and November 2023. Here we present individual data from the Spanish population. Demographic data, clinical disease characteristics and use, perception, satisfaction and adherence to CAL/BDP PAD-cream were analysed. Results were anonymized and underwent descriptive analysis. Results: The survey was completed by 86 current or past users of CAL/BDP PAD-cream for > 2 weeks in Spain (mean age 44.1 years, 65% females, mean psoriasis duration 12.5 years). The majority of patients (93%) were satisfied with CAL/BDP PAD-cream. Additionally, 92% preferred it to their previous topicals, and 70% reported high adherence (visual analogue scale 80-100). The 65% already noticed an improvement in their symptoms within 1 week. Conclusions: Patients with plaque psoriasis treated with CAL/BDP PAD-cream in the real- world setting in Spain show high satisfaction, good adherence and a positive perception of the product, suggesting that favourable results observed in clinical trials with CAL/BDP PAD-cream are reproduced in the clinical practice.
